Dr Naureen Alim Profile

Naureen Alim, M.D. performed her undergraduate work at the University of Wisconsin – Madison where she earned a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Bacteriology. After medical school at the University of Wisconsin she came to Houston to start her Internal Medicine Residency at Baylor College of Medicine. Following residency, she remained at Baylor College of Medicine to complete a combined Fellowship training program in Allergy Immunology and Rheumatology where she also served as Chief Fellow during her final year. Her clinical interests are in the area of allergic rhinitis, chronic sinusitis, and the care and management of numerous rheumatologic conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, lupus and osteoarthritis.
Dr. Alim spends most of her spare time with her two sons and her husband. She enjoys cooking and baking, especially when she can experiment and create healthy versions of her favorite recipes. Lately, she has developed an interest in diet and weight loss and has created an Instagram page to share this knowledge with her patients. She hopes to motivate them by posting her own workouts, as well as recipes and tips on how to make smart food choices. Many arthritis patients may find this useful in their weight loss journey or to discover meals that avoid foods implicated in inflammation.

She is best known for her warm bed-side manner and the time she takes with each of her patients making sure they understand each aspect of their disease and treatment. She has a strong commitment to educating her patients so they can be their own best advocates in their respective health journeys.

She has been repeatedly recognized by Houstonia Magazine as Houston’s top doctor as selected by her peers and colleagues (2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021).
